Informa Tech, the provider of intelligence, industry forums and marketing services to the global technology community, has partnered with Future Frontiers, an award-winning UK-based education charity, to help young people from disadvantaged backgrounds research and plan their career pathways.
Future Frontiers helps young people from disadvantaged backgrounds successfully navigate their time at school and transition to education or training at age 16. The charity partners with leading corporations to offer a programme of face-to-face coaching delivered by business professionals and access to professional role models in their preferred industries.
“At Informa Tech we believe that diversity is key to the success of the tech industry and that we can take action to ensure representation in all its forms, There’s never been a more critical time for us to bridge the opportunity gap for young people from disadvantaged backgrounds who have often been hardest hit during the Covid-19 pandemic.”
Ruth Ovens, Chief People Officer at Informa Tech.
“We’re really pleased to be partnering with Informa Tech, a company that sits at the heart of one of the world’s largest technology communities, to support young people making important life choices about their future, Providing the guidance, networks and opportunities these young people often lack is how we can make a real impact.”
Natasha Menon from Future Frontiers.
During the programme, a group of Year 10 students in the UK will go through an intensive 1:1 coaching delivered by Informa Tech colleagues representing different professions, backgrounds, and career pathways. Coaches are working with young people to explore future opportunities and provide guidance to find a path forward, supporting the students in transitioning to education, employment or training. The programme ensures young people from disadvantaged backgrounds are equipped with the knowledge, skills and mindsets to achieve their full potential.
Contributing to the community is an essential part of Informa Tech’s mission. The company supports numerous organisations and charities through its industry brands and it encourages colleagues to contribute to their local communities and chosen organisations via a corporate volunteering scheme.
